AptFit is a noise-aware workout app designed for people living in apartments or shared spaces. It helps users stay active at home without disturbing neighbors by adapting workout recommendations based on living conditions such as available space, flooring type, and expected noise levels. It addresses a common but frequently overlooked problem of noise anxiety during at-home workouts, making fitness more accessible and comfortable for urban and co-living environments.
At-home fitness is often constrained by factors beyond motivation or equipment.
People living in apartments must constantly consider workout space limitations, noise levels generated by exercises,
flooring type, and impact transmission in order to be mindful of neighbors or roommates.
While many workout apps offer guided routines and personalization, they fail to account for environmental constraints, particularly noise.
As a result, users experience anxiety, hesitation, or avoid exercising altogether.
Design a fitness experience that enables users to exercise confidently at home, minimize noise disturbance to others,
and feel supported rather than restricted by their living environment.
The goal is to tailor the workout experience by building on already established workout app practices.
To achieve that, we must account for each users contextual inputs, such as their available workout space,
their flooring type, and levels of noise they are comfortable with.
Each workout is labeled with noise intensity indicator, flooring recommendations and space needed for the exercise.
This allows users to make informed decisions and feel confident that their workouts are appropriate for their living situation.
